Information Regarding Proposed Gas Pipeline

According to FERC officials, a company surveying land is the first step in assessing a possible project.  An application has not yet been filed with FERC, the federal regulatory agency in charge of approving the location construction and opertion of interstate pipelines.

Montague Nomination Papers are  Now Available

Nomination papers for the Annual Town Election, Monday, May 19th are now available at the Town Clerk's office until Thursday, March 27th.  They must be returned no later than Monday, March 31st by 5:00 pm.  Potential town wide offices need to obtain 30 signatures of registered voters from the "town at large" to be placed on the ballot.  Potential town meeting members need to obtain 10 signatures from registered voters of their "home precinct" to be placed on the ballot.

Offices are as follows:

  • Selectman, Assessor, Board of Health and Parks & Recreation, each for a 3 year term.
  • Library Trustees have 3 positions open, each for a 3 year term.
  • Soldier's Memorial Trustees have 3 positions open, (1 Veteran position for a 3 year term) and (2 Non-Veteran positions - a three year term and a one year term).
  • Montague Housing Authority has one position open for a 5 year term.
  • Town Meeting Members are needed for all precincts.
The  Annual Town Election will be held on Monday, May 19, 2014.  The polls will be open from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.  The deadline to register to vote is Tuesday, April 29th.

Nomination papers regarding School Committee seats are provided by the Gill-Montague Superintendent of Schools at 35 Crocker Avenue, 863-9324.
