MONTAGUE PARKING BAN:
Message from Montague Highway Superintendent Tom Bergeron and Police Chief Chip Dodge;
The Town of Montague Parking ban will take effect as soon as the snow starts on Wednesday. This means that no parking will be allowed on any town owned streets during the overnight between the hours of 1:00am to 5:00am. We are also urging you to avoid parking on the street if you can during the storm to allow for snow removal.
Please pay attention to the parking bans in each of the town parking lots. Each lot is posted with the parking time restrictions to allow the DPW time to remove the snow from the parking lots. If they are unable to remove the snow on Thursday they will be out on Friday doing this.
It is being predicted that the snowfall will be very heavy and we could receive up to 12 inches of snow. If you are traveling during the storm please be very careful. We suggest you do your traveling before the storm if you can.

The Town of Montague has contracted with the Code Red Emergency Communications Network so that we have a way of getting Emergency and as well as very important information out to the residents of the Town of Montague as quick as possible. In the event of an emergency this may be the only way we can get information out to you fast enough to help you and your families. We are urging residents to please click on the link below to visit the CodeRed website to add your phone numbers and to customize your account. You can choose to accept all emergency or non-emergency calls or you can simply check off that you wish to receive only emergency calls. Read through the information and choose or add the options that work for you.
This is currently the only notification system in place for the Town of Montague. All Town Departments may use this notification system to get important information out to the public very quickly. Please assist us by logging in and checking to make sure your information is correct then correct or modify your information as needed.

Chief Chip Dodge
The mission of the Montague Police Department is to promote, preserve, and deliver quality services and to ensure the safety of all members of our community. We are constantly working to bring the community and the Police Department closer. By working together as a team we are able to accomplish our goals and make this a safer community to live in and visit.
The Montague Police Department provides a 24 hr 7 day a week service to the five villages of Montague. The Police Department is located in the Montague Public Safety Complex located at 180 Turnpike Road in Turners Falls, MA. The Police Department has the responsibility for maintaining a 24hr 7 day a week 911 police dispatch center with continuous NCIC/CHSB interface with criminal justice agencies across the state and nation.
The Montague Police Department has the strength of 16 full time sworn police officers, comprised of 1 Chief of Police, 1 Staff Sergeant, 3 Sergeants, 3 Detectives, 7 Patrol Officers and 1 School Resource Officer. The Montague Police Department also has 4 full time civilian Dispatchers, 1 full time Dispatch Manager/Administrative Assistant for the Police Chief and 1 Animal Control Officer. In addition to its permanent staffing, the department has 10 sworn reserve police officers.
